For almost three years now I've been learning how my body responds
to various carbohydrates as well as combinations/proportions of
carbs/protein/fat. While I am not an advocate of "high protein"
diets, per se, I do strongly believe that learning how many carbs
you can consume in a day without gaining weight is extremely
important. I also believe that the number will vary widely from
person to person.
I've tried a
number of diets and am always on the lookout for healthy and great
tasting reduced carb products with which to expand my daily
repertoire. If I had been born 200 years ago, I wouldn't feel the
need for these products because I would not have been raised among
the food selections we see every day. All the baked goods (my
particular weakness) that inundate our daily lives would have been
much scarcer treats, as I believe they should be today. But when
you like something and it's readily available...
