Baritone - Marching Band & Drum Corps

Technically, I played an American Euphonium in high school to start with. But my senior year, they brought in brand new marching Baritones!  3-valve in B-flat... Boy were they beautiful!

I'm hope to revive my musicianship with a Senior Drum and Bugle Corps, the CorpsVets. The horns are still 3-valve but they're silver-finish G horns and all the music is in treble clef vs. bass so, there's a learning curve. But that's just time and work. The only thing that could really stand in my way, however, is my back.  We'll see if I can get it to cooperate for the next season.

Raves (& Poi)

My friend Dave introduced me to the Techno/Trance genre about 6 years ago.  I've never looked back.  Though most of my experience has been through CDs, I've been to a few live shows. A few are:

bulletCrystal Method at The Masquerade
bulletLo Fidelity Allstars opening for Crystal Method and Orbital at the Tabernacle
bulletCrystal Method at the Dekalb Arts Center
bulletPaul Oakenfold at the Dekalb Arts Center
bulletChris Fortier, DJ Sasha and Paul van Dyk at Club Eleven50
bulletTimo Maas at the Riviera Club

By far, my favorite venue is Club Eleven50 (though the Tabernacle was a great time). The Dekalb Arts Center is horrible. The acoustics are so bad they end up overdriving the sound - the windows of the vehicles in the parking lot were literally rattling because they had it cranked so loud. I like loud but I'd like to enjoy something the day or the week after as well...

As for Eleven50, I'll be back as often as I can manage! Only downside is no poi allowed - it's just too crowded.  But there are folks who do something similar with light sticks held in hand.
