Places I've
been... Places I'd love to go...
London, England
- Went for two weeks for work last August and felt like I was
coming home. Looks like I'll be heading out there again for
the last week of April/first week of May. The company puts us up
at the posh
Holborn Grange and we commute in to Milton Keynes.
Leaves time for exploring the city for a new joint to eat each
night and sightseeing on the weekend. The pictures just
don't seem to say anything about what this trip meant to me - or
what most of my trips to Europe have meant... But they and the
memories (and friends I've made, of course) are all I have...
St. Augustine, FL - Of all
the places I've been in the U.S., this is probably my favorite.
Words fail.
Bethlehem, PA - My college
stomping grounds and a beautiful historic town. I love the moody
autumn skies of Bethlehem. The curving Pennsylvania mountain roads
in autumn inspired the purchase of my first
motorcycle where I rode
to forget my worries, autumn leaves swirling like miniature
tornadoes in my wake.
Cancun, Mexico
- A reward trip for those of us in the Development team of the
company formerly known as ICI (International Computex, Inc.). What
a great time!
France - Paris,
Nantes and Noirmoutier - one trip to Paris was just for
sightseeing; the next was as a foreign exchange student where I
lived in Nantes and, primarily, the peninsula on the west coast of
France, Noirmoutier. It changed me and, if I could live anywhere
in the world, it would probably be France.
Stockholm,
Sweden; Oslo, Norway; Helsinki, Finland; Leningrad, Russia - A
Sociology 'Jan Term' took me to these countries in the coldest
January in more than 40 years. Wandering the streets in the older
side of Stockholm with its medieval buildings was my favorite
part.
Callaway
Gardens, GA - a nice place to visit. My favorite part is the
butterfly house. Sit still
and a dozen may simply land on you.
